Tetrathlon is coming to Hill Farm EC from 17 to 20 August 2017.

Pony Club Tetrathlon is very much like Modern Pentathlon, which some of you may have seen at the Olympics. Tetrathlon provides members with a challenging competition, requiring sound practical horsemanship and general athletic ability.

There are 4 elements to the competition Running, Swimming, Shooting and Riding.

At Hill Farm EC we are offering 4 days full of fun, riding, jumping lessons, camping, laughs, training, team work and finishing off with a Tetrathlon competition. The children will have the same horse/pony for the 4 days.

Thursday: 9am to 5pm.

This day will focus on running training: The running distance depends on age of competitor. The children will get training on the distance required for the event.

1 hour jumping lesson. Mounted games/horse ball. General horse care.

Friday: 9am drop off

Please bring your camping equipment (list to be sent out to those who book in). We will be camping up the field. BBQ, camp fire. Set up camp. Today’s focus will be shooting. John Spear will be giving Target training with an air pistol. (the children will not load and are supervised at ALL times in a controlled area).

1 Hour jumping lesson. Fun mounted games. Learn how to cool pony off, after an event.

Early morning start, breakfast, catch in ponies, 1 hour jump lesson over X country style jumps, practice gate, and rail. In the afternoon, we are all heading over to Woolverstone House with Sarah Mann for swim training and to get times for the competition. Each competitor depending on age will have a time to complete as many lengths as possible. (assistance/aids will be given to those that need it). Tennis, trampoline, croquet and ping pong also available. Back to camp for BBQ.

Event to start around 10am

Running: Ross Byford will be organising this timed event.

Shooting: John Spear organising this target event.

Swimming will already be done and distance recorded from Saturday.

And we will finish with Riding X-country event ( timed or we will have a Dress Fence-depending on ground/weather).

5pm pick up on Sunday or come from 10am to watch the event.

4 days, 2 nights camping, 1 competition, All food included (not Thursday, bring a packed lunch for the day) £225pp.
